JOHN BROGAN, OVERCOME, DIES IN HOSPITALJohn Brogan, aged about 50 years and an old resident of the city, died at a local hospital at 10:45 o'clock Sunday night, from the effects of heat prostration.
Mr. Brogan was born in Clinton, and spent his entire life here. He was a laborer by occupation and was the last member of his family to pass away.
Mr. Brogan made his home at the Farmer's Home on First street. He was missed Sunday afternoon, and when search was made for him, he was found lying unconscious in the yard, suffering from sun-stroke. The city ambulance was called, and he was conveyed to the hospital, where he lingered until night in an unconscious condition.

page 3Funeral services for John Brogan, who died Sunday night at the hospital from the effects of heat prostration, were held this morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
Mr. Brogan was born in Clinton in 1865, and had always made this his home. He leaves no immediate family but a number of relatives living here and at DeWitt and Calamus.
