John B. Doran, a well known resident of this city, died suddenly at his home on West Exchange street Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock.

The news of his death will come as a shock to his friends, who did not know that he had been ill. Mr. Doran had not been in the best of health of late, but had not been confined to his bed.

He was up and around and Monday afternoon went out into the yard to do a little work. He suffered a weak spell, presumably from the intense heat, and went to the house. A physician was called and he began to feel better, and, thinking he could finish his work, went again to the yard. A few minutes later he suffered a second weak spell, and made his way to the porch, where he sat down and expired very suddenly. His death was due to heart trouble superinduced by the intense heat.

John Doran was born in Lyons in 1862, and lived his entire life in this city. For a number of years he was engaged in the livery business, operating the Park Livery, which he sold to the O'Meara brothers some fourteen years ago, and which is now owned by H. H. Ingwersen.

Eighteen years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Julia Fredrichsen, who survives him. He is also survived by one brother, James Doran, of this city.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 o'clock from St. Irenaeus church. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.
