Carlyle B. Miller for many years a well known figure in the business world of Clinton, died at an Iowa hospital yesterday surrounded by his immediate family. His age is 54, his birthplace being La Pierre, Wis. Early in life he accompanied his parents to La Morie, Iowa, where he lived until their removal to Clinton in 1872. The decedent was a graduate of the Clinton High school and afterwards attended Iowa University where he graduated in the class of 1881.

In 1890 his marriage took place to Miss Lena Young who was prominent in the society circles of this city.

As an organizer of the Independent Telephone Co. in this county he was well known, his business pursuits since have been in the Real Estate business. Two children survive, the Misses Barbara and Margaret C. Miller. His mother, two brothers and a sister make up the remaining relatives who attended at his death bed.

Mr. Miller was universally liked by all who had known him.

It was announced this afternoon that the funeral of Mr. Miller will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the residence, 707 Seventh avenue.
