page 8Mrs. Marguerite Mueller, of Calamus, who while visiting her son, Henry, southwest of town, died suddenly last Sunday morning in bed, aged 72 years, was one of the old settlers of Olive township and well known here and in Olive township. The many friends of the family condole with them in their loss. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at Buena Vista.

page 8Grand Mound, Iowa, April 14--Mrs. Margaret Mueller was born May 8, 1842 in Saxony, Germany. In the year of 1854 she came to America with her parents and resided in Chicago for three months, going from there to a farm near Hampton, Ill. In 1860 she was married to Henry L. Mueller, and to this union were born ten children, as follows: Mary Brockman (deceased), Henry A., Fred J., Minnie Schwartz, Margaret Sipe, (deceased), Frederica Dralle, Adolph, Emma Porth, George and Gustav, all of whom are living in Clinton county, except Fred of Bettendorf, Ia., and Adolph of Leroy, Minn. She died at the home of her son, Henry, Sunday, April 9th, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and one day. She leaves to mourn her demise eight children, thirty-six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. August Magenkurth and one brother, Adam Gernant, both of Geneseo, Ill., besides a very great number of friends made by her kind and loving disposition. Mrs. Mueller was a faithful and active member of the Lutheran church. The sympathy of all is with the family in their bereavement. The following named grandchildren acted as pall bearers: Jake Bruckman, Fred Bruckman, Harry Whitman, Paul Whitman, Carl Port, Fred Sipe.
