Funeral services were held Monday in Clinton for Mrs. Sophia Blatchley, 83, of Clinton. Dr. Bruce McCullough, pastor of the First Presbyterian church at Clinton, officiated. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery.

Mrs. Blatchley was born May 16, 1874, in Cedar county, the daughter of the late William and Amalia Laumeier Richmann, and died Friday, March 28, in a Clinton nursing home where she had been for 10 days. She had been a patient in Jane Lamb hospital in Clinton since 1957. She was married in 1904 to Ceylon E. Blatchley and they made their home in Clinton.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Anna) Boettger, Clinton, and Emma Richmann, Lowden; two nieces and six nephews.

Her husband and two brothers preceded her in death.
