Myrna P. Wisely, 72, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at her home in Calamus.

Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Myrna on Monday, March 25, 2019, from 4 to 7 P.M. in "The Bistro" at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. A private burial will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.

Myrna Pauline Thompson was born on February 25, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa, to Samuel M. and Laverna R. (Christiansen) Thompson. She grew up in Clinton County and attended and graduated from Lost Nation High School. She married Reed Wisely on August 30, 1982 in Clinton, Iowa.

Myrna was a homemaker. She was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Bulls. She enjoyed painting wildlife, horses, and spending time outdoors camping and fishing. She also was an animal lover of both stray and domesticated dogs and cats.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Reed Wisely of Calamus, IA; children, Kristin (Lance) Feuss of Baldwin, IA, Kelly Seastrand of the Quad Cities, and Aaron (Simona) Seastrand of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Merlyn (Pat) Thompson of Davenport, IA; and sisters, Donna Lacey of Maquoketa, IA, and Carol (Roger) Heilig of DeWitt, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Roland Thompson.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Myrna P. Wisely memorial fund has been established.
