Patrick Williams, aged 81, one of Clinton's well known residents, died at his home at 901 South Third street at 12:10 last night of heart failure.
Mr. Williams has been in ill health for over a year.
He was born in King's county, Ireland, on August 12th, 1835, coming to this country May 4th, 1856, to Sterling, Ill. He was married in Sterling in 1857 to Miss Bessie Byrns, who preceded him in death six years ago. In 1857 Mr. Williams moved to Clinton, where he had made his residence ever since.
Surviving are six daughters and two sons: Mrs. H. W. Shelly, Mrs. W. T. Kelly, Mrs. F. W. Hoefer and Mrs. W. R. Bethume of Chicago, Mrs. P. T. Lillis and Mrs. E. J. Blessington of Clinton, James Williams of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and George Williams of Chicago.
Services will be held Saturday morning at St. Mary's church, Very Rev. E. J. McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery.
Mr. Williams was a charter member of St. Mary's Total Abstinence Society.

The funeral of the late Patrick Williams was held this morning with services at St. Mary's church where requiem mass was celebrated and interment in St. Mary's cemetery.
