Henry Witt, a well known resident of the lower part of the city, passed away Friday at the state hospital for tuberculosis patients at Oakdale. The remains arrived in Clinton early this afternoon, and were taken to the home at 676 Washington avenue.

Mr. Witt had been suffering from tuberculosis for several months and some time ago was sent to the hospital at Oakdale. He was about 50 years of age, and was born in Germany. Surviving him are his wife and family.

Grand Mound, Ia. May 9--Mrs. Jacob Hanson, on the Mrs. Hynes farm northeast of town, with her mother, Mrs. Henry Witt of Clinton, and brother Herman, living west of Clinton, were called to Iowa City last week by the fatal illness of their husband and father, Henry Witt, who died there Wednesday in his 59th year. They brought his remains home to Clinton and interment was made there Sunday in Springdale cemetery.
