Petersville, Ia. April 6--The death of Mrs. Mary Brackett occurred at the home of Mrs. A. Goodall last Sunday evening. She suffered a paralytic stroke, from which she never rallied, her death occurring at the time stated. The deceased was about 67 years of age, and had made her home with her aunt, Mrs. A. Goodall, for the past four years, coming here from Mexico. She was a former resident of this vicinity and Maquoketa, and was married at the latter place. Her husband preceded her about five years ago. She leaves to mourn, her son, Frank, residing here, two daughters at Spokane, Wash., and two sons now in California.

The deceased was a very intelligent, well read, and travelled a great deal in her life time. She could tell many interesting stories of her travels. She will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends, to whom she had endeared herself in her short sojourn among them.

She was a good Christian, a kind and devoted friend.

The funeral occurred Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at Immaculate Conception church. Rev. D. J. Ryan celebrated a requiem mass, after which Rev. James Brady of Lyons delivered a very impressive and touching sermon. The remains were interred in the adjoining cemetery.

Those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: Mrs. P. McCarthy, Tama, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Burke, Miss Martha Goodall, Clinton, Mrs. James Gilroy, Lost Nation; Mrs. Wm. McGarry, DeWitt.
