The funeral of the late Alfred Sutton will be held from his mother's residence, 510 Sixth avenue at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.

The funeral of the late A. A. Sutton, who passed away in the state of Washington this week, and whose body reached Clinton Thursday evening was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of his mother, Mrs. Frank Sutton, on Sixth avenue.

The deceased was born at Elk River, in Clinton county, on September 14, 1857. He spent most of his life in Clinton and vicinity. From 1874 until 1877 he was employed by P. N. Towle, and from the latter year until 1888 by C. Lamb & Sons of this city. He then went into business with his father, Frank Sutton, and remained until 1895.

Twelve years ago Mr. Sutton left Clinton and had since made his home in Port Crescent, Wash. Part of the time he was in the lumber business there, and the remainder in the government service. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Alice N. Sutton, one son, Leon G. Sutton, a grandson, his mother, Mrs. Mary Sutton, of this city and three brothers, Clyde R., Clarence and Attorney L. F. Sutton, of this city.
