The remains of the late Mrs. F. E. Whiting, who died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. B. McKean, in Muscatine, arrived in this city at 11:55 this morning and were taken to her home, 208 South Fifth street.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her home, Rev. R. G. Keagy of the Methodist church officiating.
The Muscatine paper has the following to say regarding her death:
Mrs. F. E. Whiting of Lyons, Ia., passed away at 6:30 o'clock Thursday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. C. R. McKean, 1001 Iowa avenue. Death was due to bronchial pneumonia, from which she had suffered for the past two weeks. She was 68 years of age at the time of her death.Three weeks ago Mrs. Whiting came from her home in Lyons to visit her daughter, Mrs. McKean. She was taken ill at the home of her daughter and failed steadily until the end came Tuesday morning.
Besides the bereaved daughter of this city the decedent is survived by her husband, F. E. Whiting of Clinton, two sons, Edward and Charles of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. C. Slaughter of Davenport and a daughter, Mrs. S. E. Hayton, of Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. F. E. Whiting were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the home 306 South Fifth street. Services were in charge of Rev. R. C. Keagy and burial was in Oakland cemetery. During the services Miss Ethel Sutton and Mrs. R. C. Keagy rendered several hymns. The pall bearers were Walter Goddard, A. E. Duncan, W. A. Sewell, Silas Dodge, Harry Kindred and Henry Haslach.
