Mrs. Joe Widderich passed away Friday evening at the home of her daughter in Marshalltown, Ia., where she had been visiting the past week.

Katharine Nichols was born in Germany, December 6, 1856, and was married to Joseph Widderich January 22, 1881, and came to this country in 1884. They lived in New York for one year and then came to Lyons, where they have since made their home at 300 Ottawa street. Mr. Widderich passed away some time ago.

The deceased leaves to mourn her one daughter, Mrs. Lou Baker of Lyons and one adopted daughter, Mrs. Joe Hungley of Marshalltown; three sisters, Mrs. John Ahrenholz of Lyons, Mrs. Simon Wolenberg and Mrs. Henry Smith of Lovingsworth, Wash., and one brother, Fred Nichols of Lovingsworth, Wash.

Mrs. Kathrine Widderich passed away Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Hundley, with whom she had been visiting at Marshalltown. She had been ailing for a number of months with dropsy and had made her home on Ottawa street up until the time of her death. The deceased was born September 5, 1856 in Holstein, Germany, and was married January 22, 1881 to Joachan Widderich, who died in September, 1916.

One child was born to this union. Those surviving are Mrs. J. A. Hundley, an adopted daughter of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Edna Baker, of Lyons, her only child; also three sisters, Mrs. John Ahrenholz of Lyons, Mrs. S. Wohlenberg, of Washington and Mrs. Henry Schmidt of North Dakota, and a brother Fred Mickle of North Dakota. Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran church at 2:30 this afternoon with Rev. Hugo Crimm officiating and burial made in Oakland cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Widderick were held yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Baker, 300 Ottawa street, followed by services at St. John's Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Hugo Grimm officiating. Those attending the casket were: Henry Harms, Jerry Nissen, Finley Smith, Herman Schlemmer, Albertus Henricksen and Harry Hansen. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.

Those from out of town who came to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hundley, of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Baker of Miles, Mrs. Emil Scharas of DeWitt and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fleming of Miles.
