Petersville, Ia., March 18--The death of Joseph Dunlavey occurred Monday night at Mercy hospital following an operation for appendicitis. The deceased was the son of James Dunlavey, a former resident of this place, and was about 24 years old. His mother died when he was about three years of age and since then he had made his home with his aunt, Mrs. Lizzie Hanrahan, who always took a motherly interest in his welfare. He leaves to mourn him his father, three brothers and three sisters, William, James and Henry, and Mrs. Kate McClimon, Mrs. Ellen Mumford and Miss Mary. The deceased was a young man of exemplary habits, a good member of the Catholic church, a staunch Knight of Columbus of the DeWitt council. He will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends, who will deeply regret his passing away in the first bloom of young manhood. The funeral was held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at Immaculate Conception church. A requiem mass was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. D. J. Ryan, who also delivered the sermon, speaking in the highest terms of the good Christian character and life of the deceased.
