17 April 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

Sunday morning at about eleven o'clock at Mercy hospital occurred the death of Miss Alma Davis, after an illness of some three weeks due to pneumonia. Last Monday she was removed to the hospital where she underwent an operation which was successful, and her condition was pronounced as favorable until Saturday, when she took a change for the worse and failed until the time of her death Sunday.

Alma Grace Davis was born in this city October 10, 1898 and has lived here since that time. She was attending Lyons schools and would have graduated with the class of 1917 from the Lyons High school and her many friends and classmates sympathize with the bereaved family in their hour of sadness.Besides being a member of the Lyons High school Miss Davis belonged to the Epworth league of the Lyons Methodist church and was also a member of that church.

Besides her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Davis, she leaves two brothers, Clifford and Lee, also two sisters, Vera and Mildred all of whom are at home. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist church with Rev. R. C. Keagy in charge of the services and burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

The funeral of the late Miss Alma Davis will be held from the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Davis, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock to the Methodist church where funeral services will be read by Rev. R. C. Keagy. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.

Funeral services for the late Miss Alma Davis were held this afternoon from the Lyons Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. R. C. Keagy in charge, followed by burial in Oakland cemetery.

A private service was held at the home on South Eighth street previous to the service at the church. The pupils of the High school were dismissed early in the afternoon and attended the service at the church in a body.

The pall bearers were: Arnold Rockrohr, Will Scott, T. Clark, Tom Carter, Peter Petersen, Roland Mallory, Arnold Angell and Arthur Heckler.
