At her family home on Second St. Sunday Mrs. John Kurt passed away after much suffering. Medical skill and kindest care proved unavailing. The dread cancer had its way and caused the removal from the family of a beloved mother and helpmate.

She was born in Clinton county in 1852, was married to Joseph Schwirtz, who died in 1890, leaving her with seven children, four sons and three daughters. She married Mr. John Kurt who remains to mourn her loss with her seven children and ten step-children and many friends.

High mass was celebrated Wednesday morning at the Catholic church and interment was made in the Bellevue Catholic cemetery. Many relatives from a distance attended these last rites for this esteemable lady.
