19 February 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

C. C. Knight, aged 90 years, one of the oldest and best known residents of Clinton died at the home of his daughter here yesterday.

Mr. Knight was born in Belfast, Maine, near the Penobscot river on April 6th, 1825. In 1933 he went with his parents to Lincoln county, Ohio, and in 1836 moved to Schuyler county, Illinois. In April 1840, with three of his brothers, he came to Fulton, residing there until about 16 years ago, when he moved to Clinton. Since that time he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Flanders, at 435 Second avenue.

On November 10, 1848, Mr. Knight was united in marriage with Mrs. Julia Holinshead, who preceded him in 1883. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, of which three children survive, Mrs. C. L. Flanders of Clinton, John Knight of Spring Valley, Wisconsin and Mrs. Joe Willis of Broken Bow, Nebraska.

Funeral services will probably be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the First Methodist church.
