16 February 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser
Fred Bevensee, an old resident of Clinton, died at his home here at 2 o'clock this morning of a complication of diseases after an illness of six months.
Mr. Bevensee was born in Germany on August 7th, 1842. He came to Canada at the age of 7 years and moved from there to Fulton, where he was married to Anna Lawson in 1866. In the following year he came to Clinton, where he has lived ever since.
Surviving him are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. W. E. Pink, Mrs. J. P. Butler, and Mrs. T. V. Butler, of Clinton, Andrew Bevensee, of Clinton, and George Bevensee of Northville, South Dakota. Two sisters, Mrs. John Lemburg, of Independence, Missouri, and Mrs. P. Schneder, of St. Mary's Canada, also survive.
Mr. Bevensee was a member of Redwood camp, No. 31, M.W.A. Funeral announcements will be made later.

The funeral of Fred Bevensee, which was to have been held this afternoon, has been postponed until Saturday afternoon, to wait the arrival of the son of the deceased from Dakota.
The services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at the Baptist church, Reverend Rogers officiating.
