Anna Margaret Stoltenberg, nee Jansen, was born Dec. 5th, 1867 at Neuen Kirchen, Schleswig Holstein, Germany. She came to America with her parents in 1898 and settled at Lyons, Iowa. Later she moved to Lost Nation and lived here for some time. In 1890 she was united in holy wedlock to Peter Stoltenberg. Seven children were born to them, four sons and three daughters. They made their home in Minnesota for about fourteen years, about three years ago moving to Clarence, Iowa. She was compelled recently to undergo an operation at the Cedar Rapids hospital from which she did not recover. She passed away Feb. 3rd, 1916. She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother, her husband and children. They are Andrew of Estherville, William of North Dakota, Henry, Arlo and Emma at home; Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Emma Schultz. She leaves two sisters Mrs. Saggan and Mrs. Riedel of Minnesota and two brothers, Peter of Lost Nation and her twin brother, Carsten of Delmar. She was at her death 48 years, 1 month and 22 days. The funeral services took place at the Lutheran church here Monday afternoon. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved relatives.
