Lloyd "Red" Evans, 75, of Baldwin, Iowa, passed away on Thursday morning, February 14, 2019, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.

Friends and family may gather in remembrance of "Red" on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, from 6 to 8 P.M. in "The Bistro" at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at the Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin, Iowa, at a later date.

Lloyd Evans was born on April 12, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, to Chester and Mildred Evans. He was raised by the Willey family. He married Carolyn Kay Clark and they were together 25 years. They had four children, Donald, Mike, Pam and Timothy.

"Red" had worked at Oscar Meyer in Davenport on the meat processing cut line for many years. He then did small engine repair with Coast to Coast in Marion, Iowa. Lastly, he retired from WADY Industries in Maquoketa after ten years.

"Red" was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, mushrooming and preparing his own food from the land. He also loved his coon hunting dogs and planting and grinding his own horseradish.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Donald (Denise) Evans of Nashville, IA, Mike (Carol) Evans of Maquoketa, IA, Pam (John) Schmidt of Monmouth, IA, and Timothy (Becky) Evans of Maquoketa, IA; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Linda Arnold of Baldwin, IA; and Linda's children, Jacob, Brian and Robert Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild Julia Jean Evans.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Lloyd Evans memorial fund has been established.
