7 February 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

Magnus Heupel received word today that Mrs. Julia Heupel passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Coolidge, in Chicago, at five o'clock this morning, after an illness of two years' duration.

The deceased had been ailing for the past two years and about two months ago went to Chicago to receive treatment, but had failed steadily until the time of her demise.

The body will be brought to the home, 209 Third avenue, this evening at 9:45 o'clock for burial.

The funeral services will be held at the Episcopal church. Definite arrangements will be announced later.

Mrs. J. Heupel died Monday morning, Feb. 7th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Coolidge in Chicago after an illness of two years. She was taken seriously ill while on a pleasure trip to the Pacific coast, accompanied by her husband and Mr. and Mrs. S. Threager.

She was born in Monticello, Ia., July 17, 1864, and lived there until she came to Clinton some thirty years ago.

Surviving the deceased are her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Coolidge of Chicago and one son, Norman McClusky of Lyons. They were all with her during the last days of her suffering and rendered all for her comfort that loving hands could do. She was a good, kind and loving wife and mother, one that makes the home the brightest spot on earth. She is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. H. F. Groves of Kenwood Park, Iowa; Mrs. William Beese of Randolph, Neb., Mrs. D. Wange, of Albernette, Ia.; Mrs. N. Smith, Monticello, Iowa, and Mrs. James Gerhart of Sand Springs, Iowa. Five brothers, Joe Cooper, Kansas City, Mo., R. Cooper, Manchester, Iowa. ? Cooper, Ramsey, Ill., William Cooper, Manchester, Iowa, C. Cooper, Oxford Junction, Iowa.

The remains were brought in on the 9:45 train last night, accompanied by J. Heupel, Mrs. W. B. Coolidge, Norval McClusky, Mrs. William Heupel, Mrs. B. Johnson and Mrs. A. Edward.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 o'clock from St. John's Episcopal church. Interment in Springdale cemetery.
