Adam Hebeler, aged 70 years, died at his home, 1114 Old Main street, at 8:30 o'clock this morning, after a lingering illness.

He had been ill for a number of years of cancer but had only been confined to his bed since last October.

The deceased was born in Geismer, Hessen-Nassau, Germany, February 9th, 1844. He was married to Anna Katherine Naumann in Germany. To this union six children were born, one dying in infancy, and one daughter, Mrs. Martha Munck, passing away in Clinton in 1912.

In 1884 the deceased with his family came to Lyons and has lived here ever since. On February 26, 1892, his wife died.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Hoffman and Mrs. Lizzie Berry of Lyons; two sons, William of Davenport and Henry of Clinton, and eight grandchildren, and one sister living in Germany.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon with short services at his late residence at 1:30 o'clock and the funeral sermon preached at St. John's Lutheran church at about 2 o'clock, Rev. Hugo Grimm officiating. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
