George H. Fromang, 73, of Clinton, died Wednesday, August 29 at his home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where an 8 p.m. Rose Croix service will be held with Laurence Kynett officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Kuehl, Robert Pennock, Stanley Leeper, Robert Gifford, August Von Thun and Robert Neuman.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and they are: Gary Munson, Jr., Bradley A. Johnson, Jeffrey Dickinson, Gene Holmes and Brian McManus.

Mr. Fromang was born February 8, 1917 in Lincoln, Illinois to Elmer C. and Cora Belle Ison- Fromang. He married Petrea Mary Remrey September 27, 1939. She died January 10, 1969. He later married Eleanor Streets-Holmes November 22, 1969. She died February 28, 1989.

He was a pipefitter and welder for 40 years at Clinton Corn. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Masonic Emulation Lodge No. 255, Scottish Rites, Moose Club, AMVETS Post 28, American Legion and Izaak Walton League. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army in the European Theater.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Vici) Johnson of Clinton and Mrs. Gary (Kay) Munson of Thomson; a step daughter, Nancy McManus of Camanche; a step son Jim Holmes of Camanche; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.
