The Clinton Herald Wednesday September 8, 1926 p 6 Stephen B. Point, aged 82 years, died Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rockwell undertaking parlors. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Stephen B. Point was born in Allen county, Ohio, June 21, 1844, and had arrived at the fine age of 82 years, two months and 17 days. He enlisted in April, 1861, in Co. F. 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Lincoln's 90 day volunteers, and continued in service throughout the war, being one of the last of the boys in blue to be mustered out. He became a member of Gen. N.B. Baker post, G.A.R., 88 Clinton, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Point, and the following living children, Mrs. Charity Phillips of Lincoln, Neb., Charles E. Elmer C. and Arthur A. Point, all of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his sons, Mack and A.C. Point and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Edwards. There is one brother, Charles Point, of Marion, and there are four sisters, Mrs. Handy Trimble of Marion, Mrs. Cassie Burroaker of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Emma Young and Mrs. Zelota Sinkey of Waverly. There are eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
