Jean Harriet Diss 83 of Clinton, Iowa entered Heaven's Gates on June 2nd, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. She went peacefully surrounded by her family.

Jean's Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home located at 302 3rd Ave S in Clinton, Iowa. Services will be officiated by Pastor Roland Schneider and Rev. Ray Gimenez. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Diss, Nathan Diss, Rex Hieken, Paul Hieken, Briseus Diss and Unity Diss. Visitation will be 12:00 pm until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jean Harriet Sanders was born August 29, 1933 in Camanche, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Marie (Campie) Sanders. She attended Camanche Schools.

She worked as a CNA at several nursing homes in Clinton County as well as in private homes. Even after she retired from nursing, she remained a caretaker for her family. Her pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent the latter half of her life providing daycare for most of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her Orpheus Bible study group that was led by Maurice Rogers. She loved puzzles, puzzle books, bingo, family game night, dice, and entertaining the family at cookouts.

She is survived by her sister Helen Hallock, children Kenny (Ginny) Sanders, Carol Mitchell,Pat Cram, Michael (Bridget) Diss, Nathan (April) Diss, and her adopted daughter Sandra Wenzel, Her 14 grandchildren Paula Benitz, Kelly (Philip) Cuanetl, Ronald "Bub" (Marlene) Mitchell, Heather Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Unity, Briseus, Keeilah, Adonajah, Freya, Ellaria and Daneryus Diss, Lindsay (William) Bailey and Rex (Paul) Heiken, 12 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, a plethora of cousins and other extended family members.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother Marie Campie-Sanders and her father Harold Sanders her siblings, Robert and Betty (Clark) Sanders, Dorothy Addison, Kenny "Unc" Sanders, Loraine and Harry Sanders, Mary Munson, and Marie "Jo" Slaughter, and her great grandson Christian Cuanetl.
