Lester Krogmann, 84, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Genesis Medical Center on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. A visitation will occur from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, at the Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service with burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Lester was born September 17, 1932 in Preston, Iowa, the son of Frank and Josephine (Boremann) Krogmann. Lester served his county in the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Korean War. Lester was united in marriage to Beverly Hudson at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church on January 18, 1956 - Beverly passed away in 1991.

Lester was a former member of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church. He farmed his entire life until health issues prohibited him from doing so.

Farming was not just his occupation but his real passion in life. He enjoyed watching football and baseball, following his favorite teams the Vikings and Cubs. He also enjoyed listening to country music and watching old westerns.

Lester is survived by his five daughters - Jan Sievers of Clinton, IA, Linda (Steve) Coppess of Clinton, IA, Laurie Jacobs of Bellevue, IA, Luann Cady of Clinton, IA and Mellissa (Fred) Ryan of Clinton, Iowa; two sons - Gary (Carol) Krogmann of Clinton, IA and Leonard Krogmann of Camanche, IA, as well as other extended family; with many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother - Arnold (Mary) Krogmann of Clinton, IA; his very special friend Betty Boehmer of Clinton, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Lester in death were his parents, his wife, one daughter - Vicki and three son in-laws.
