Valeria L. Otten, 92, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Mercy Living Center- North, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 2:30pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to the service time at the church on Wednesday. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Valeria Leanna Otten was born on October 29, 1924 in Preston, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Feddersen) Otten. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1941. She graduated from Augustana College and the University of Northern Iowa in the education field.
Valeria taught in the Fulton and the Clinton schools for a total of 47 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Iowa State Education Association, National Education Association, AARP, and the Clinton Women's Club. She enjoyed reading, traveling, knitting, and was an avid Chicago Cub and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Valeria is survived by her friends and her Zion Lutheran Church family.
