Richard E. "Dick" Bark, age 83 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Lyons United Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. Cremation rites will follow with burial at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dick was born in Clinton on September 20, 1933, the son of Corlus and Berniece (Gaarde) Bark. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1951. Dick married Patsy McClain on May 23, 1953 in Clinton. He was employed at Clinton Corn Processing Company for 25 years and later owned and operated Bark Construction. He was a member of Lyons United Methodist Church and Ducks Unlimited. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served as Commissioner of the North End Little League for several years and umpired high school baseball games. He had a passion for wine making and enjoyed following the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes.

Dick is survived by his wife Patsy; five sons, Michael Bark of Harvey, LA, Thomas (Rebecca) Bark of Marion, IA, Kenneth Bark of Clinton, Keith (Janet) Bark of Ankeny, IA, and Gerald (Julie) Bark of Kingsport, TN; two daughters, Kathleen (Frank) Van Metre of Azusa, CA and Diane (Herman) Gibbons of McDonald, OH; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
