Jane H. Jones, 104, of Clinton passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home at Bickford Cottage - Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery - Clinton. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Stone, John Raymond, Jr., Seth Stone, Ryan Perry and Tim Duff. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Jane Hoffman Bowers was born May 4, 1912 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Sue (Hoffman) Bowers. She was a 1930 graduate of Clinton High School. She received a Bachelor's degree in Education from Wartburg College in 1935. She married Edwin Jones on June 21, 1942 in Hanford, California; he preceded her in death on July 11, 1988.

Jane worked as a teacher at Grand Mound High School for four years and Lyons Junior High School for two years. She retired from teaching in 1942. After her retirement she continued to substitute teach for many years.

She attended the Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter FI, Tri S and Mercy Auxillary.

She is survived by her two daughters: Ginni (Fred) Stone of Ottumwa, Iowa and Susan (John) Raymond of Richmond, Virginia; five grandchildren: Matt (Kimberly Bischoff) Stone of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shawn (Tim) Duff of Atlantic, Iowa, Seth (Ashley) Stone of Altoona, Iowa, John (Kelly) Raymond, Jr. of Plymouth, Massachusetts and Megan (Ryan) Perry of Charlotte, North Carolina; eight great grandchildren: Griffin, Sawyer, Brogan, Connor, Lyla, Charlotte, Dylan and Keeley.

In addition to her husband, Jane was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bobby Bowers and two sisters, Betty Smith and Nancy Kelly.
