Darline K. Dierks, age 79, of Clinton, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Darline was born in Lyons on June 26, 1937, the daughter of Lloyd and Edith (Gorsuch) McDonald. She attended Lyons Schools and graduated from Clinton High School. Darline married Robert Dierks on June 19, 1955 in Clinton. She had been employed at Snack Harbor, J.C. Penney's and had owned and operated the Fashion Shoppe on Main Ave. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and gathered with the same card club for over 60 years. Caring for her kids, grandkids, and great grandchildren was her life. She enjoyed family potlucks, casino bus trips, and the cabin on the river.

Darline is survived by her husband, Robert; four children, Don (Ruth) Dierks of Clinton, Debbie (Bart) Espey of Clinton, Susie (Todd) Watts of Davenport and Jeff (Alicia) Dierks of Clinton; 7 grandchildren, Sara (Mark) Rolston, Elizabeth (Brock) Swan, Greg (Eileen) Espey, Bobbie Sue Watts, Stephanie Watts, Brandon Dierks and Bradley Dierks; 12 great grandchildren, Mehgan, Devvin, Nolan, Landon, Jade, Alex, Charlee, Kinley, Isaiah, Emrie, Aria and Oakley; two sisters, Marilyn Thomsen of Low Moor and Janet Bahnsen of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene "Sonny" McDonald; a sister, Joan Hagge and a brother-in-law, Paul "Hawk" Bahnsen.
