The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, February 3, 1888

The circumstances attending the death of Miss Rose Seeser are melancholy in the extreme. The young lady’s home was near this city but she was visiting an aunt at Howard, Dakota, when on the day of the big blizzard she started to the barn to look after the cattle. The men folks not being at home, and evidently was blinded with snow, an losing her way to either the barn or to return to the house, she wandered out upon the prairie and was found frozen to death, about a mile from the house. The remains were brought to this city and funeral services held on Wednesday, followed by interment in Springdale Cemetery.
