William James Kooi (Jim) passed away January 28, 2017 in Green Bay, WI after a brief illness. He was born February 3, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, graduating from Clinton High School in 1946. He married Henrietta Andresen August 5, 1950. During the next 22 years they farmed in the Clinton area. He retired from farming in 1972 and began working as a Pinkerton Security guard until his retirement.
Jim enjoyed building model airplanes from balsa wood, working outside on the yard, gardening, playing cards, billiards, and going for walks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta, and a grandson, Matthew Kooi. Jim is survived by his brother, Eugene Kooi of Camanche, IA; sister Phyllis Petersen of Clinton, IA, and children: Sheryl Abegglen of De Pere, WI; Lawrence Kooi of Pahrump, NV; and Rebecca Howle of Salt Lake City, UT. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
