Mrs. Agnes H. Pinter, 98, of Grand Mound, Iowa, died early Sunday morning, February 19, 2017 at Wheatland Manor.
Mrs. Pinter, the former Agnes Helen Kaczinski was born March 5, 1918, in New Hampton, Iowa, to Matthew and Mary (Schreiber) Kaczinski. On August 24, 1937, she was united in marriage to Victor Pinter at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Clinton. The couple farmed and raised their family at rural Grand Mound until moving to Grand Mound in 1956. Agnes was employed by the calendar factory in DeWitt and later Waukesha Motors in Clinton. Her husband preceded her in death October 2, 2005.
She was a longtime member of Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound and the altar and rosary society. Agnes was active at the Grand Mound Community Center especially with Bingo. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and a trip once in a while to the casino.
Surviving are children, Madonna Pinter of Camanche and Gary (Janet) Pinter of Gilbert, Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Karen Pinter of Delmar; grandchildren, Mark (Liz) Pinter, Scott (Mary) Pinter, Dan Pinter, Andy (Erin) Pinter, Brad (Marcia) Pinter and Kimberly (Chris) Schowen; great-grandchildren, Nick (Morgan Crosthwaite) Wolfe, Amber Pinter, Cassandra (Devin Nehring) Pinter, Joshua Pinter, Jared Pinter, Kyle (Kasandra Kwiatkowski) Pinter, Alyssa Pinter, Keagan Pinter, Jake Pinter, Brady Pinter, Carson Pinter, Kelsey Pinter and Madison Pinter; great-great-grandchildren, Bryson Pinter, Addison Pinter, Aubrey Pinter, Isabella Nehring and Kayden Pinter; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Agnes in death in addition to her husband were a son, Larry; her parents; brothers, Max and Edward and sisters, Clara Block, Edna Roberts, Gertrude Kaczinski, Lilly Hathaway and Mary Geiger.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017, with a vigil service at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017, at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound with the Rev. Fr. Francis O'Doom officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
