Ronald T. Halsted, 90, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Mercy Living Center-North, Clinton. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:30AM at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM until the Service hour at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with the services. Inurnment will follow the service at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.

Ronald was born May 8, 1926 in Ossining, NY, the son of Thomas and Sallie (Dougherty) Halsted. He was a Ossining High School graduate and attended the Delahanty Institute, NY. Ronald was a WWII U. S. Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre. He married Virginia "Ginnie" Hubbard on August 21, 1946 in Williamsville, NY.

Ronald owned RTH Janitorial Enterprises for more than 28 years, retiring in 1989. He had also been a trader on Wall Street for Clark Dodge and Co.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and was a former member of the Moose.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Ginnie" Halsted of Clinton; children, Sharon (Richard) Otten; Garry Halsted and Karen Pessman all of Clinton; grandson Michael Halsted of Clinton, whom he and Ginnie raised; as well as many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sallie, grandson, Brian Ray, Jr., parents and a sister.
