ELMER J. BIELEMA, 92, of Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Harbor Crest.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Stephan, pastor of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.

Elmer was born November 30, 1924, in Fulton, IL to Jacob R. and Alice (VanderSchaaf) Bielema. He was educated in the Smith Grade School of rural Whiteside County. He married Marian E. VanZuiden on January 5, 1950, in Fulton, IL. She died August 11, 1993. Elmer was first employed by Fulton Corp and later at Farm and Fleet in Clinton, IA, until retiring in 1994. Elmer was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton and served as an usher. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, trains, and his pets. Elmer was an avid Cubs and Lumber Kings baseball fan. A memorial to First Reformed Church Radio Broadcast has been established.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Howard) Paysen of Fulton, IL; three nephews, Brian Bielema, Ross (Michelle) Bielema and Brent Bielema.
