Ida M. Thompson, 101, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Mercy Living Center - North.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Church of the Open Door - Clinton. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery - Clinton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 am until the service hour at the church. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Ida Mae Gregory was born December 21, 1915 in Odin, Illinois, the daughter of Abe and Alice (Rippy) Gregory. She married Chester Thompson on July 6, 1937 in Decorah, Iowa; he passed away on December 19, 1995.

Ida worked as an inspector for the Clinton Garment Company for 27 years; retiring in 1979. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and loved to camp. She was most fond of time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Hemphill of Clinton; two granddaughters: Sarah (Chad) Kisner of Clinton and Julie (Jeff) Murphy of West Des Moines, Iowa; two great granddaughters: Olivia and Madeline; special nephew: Ken (Mary Jane) Barkdoll of Rockford, Illinois; three special nieces: Joy Tilton of Boise, Idaho, Elain Trout of Huntington, Indiana and Carol (John) Langher of Davenport, Iowa; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ida was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
