James L. Winter, Sr., 66, of Clinton passed away, Monday, January 2, 2017 at his home - Clinton.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Family will be greeting friends prior to the service from 9:30 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

James Lee Winter was born March 12, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harold and Roberta (Point) Winter, Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Anne Oresky on March 26, 1986 in Clinton.

Jim attended trade school to become a millwright. He worked for J.T. Cullens and the Camanche Machine Shop. He also worked on the railroad in his younger years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, time spent with family and friends. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Anne Winter of Clinton; four children: Terri (Ted) Ingwersen of Central City, Iowa, Shelly (Sara) Strong-Cox of Clinton, Janet (Jake Callahan) Winter of Marion, Iowa and Jimmy (Desiree Hernandez) Winter, Jr. of Clinton; seven grandchildren: Abbey, Morgan, Jazlyn, Zach, Kira, Joe and Layla; two brothers: Don (Donna) Winter of Clinton and Tom (Deb) Winter of Camanche; two sister: Jolie (Dave) Austin of Virginia and Becky (Paul) Miller of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
