Cathy A. Alberts, 65, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics - Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, December 30, 2016 at the First Baptist Church - Clinton. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the church. Following the services her body will be cremated. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family. Cathy Ann Luskey was born on December 20, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Martha (Hudson) Luskey. She married James Alberts on November 22, 1975 in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was a homemaker.
Cathy was an active member of First Baptist Church where her passion was for the Children's Ministry. She was always serving others. She loved being a foster parent with her husband Jim for over 25 years fostering over 100 children during that time. She enjoyed reading, and crossword and suduko puzzles. Her greatest love and joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Cathy is survived by her husband: Jim of Clinton; children: Casey (James) McDonnell, Tyler (Mischell) Alberts, Michael Alberts, and Nate Alberts all of Clinton; five grandchildren: Zachary, RiKaya, Jax-zen, Zoey, and Atticus; a special foster daughter: Addie (Tod) Snell and their children: Caitlyn and Cassandra of Davenport; siblings: Steve (Denise) Luskey of Fulton, Karen (Mike) Bland of Albany, and Deb (John) Reynolds of Albany; sister-in-laws: Sherry Zink of Juneu, Wisconsin, and Bonnie (Jerry) Opp of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother-in-laws: Bob (Pam) Alberts of Forreston, Illinois, and Tom (JoAnn) Alberts of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Barbara and Diane, her mother and father-in-law; foster granddaughter: Carlie, and her sister-in-law: Betty Zink.
