Nancy A. Dethmann age 74 of Tipton, IA, formerly of Clinton, passed away Sunday Dec. 25, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday Dec. 30th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 4 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemtery. Casket bearers will be Eric Dethmann, Amy Crock, Nathan and Benen Crock, Larry Laing, and Jerry Paisley. Honorary pallbearer will be David Crock. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Nancy was born on Oct. 9, 1942 in Clinton, the daughter of David and Annie (Jensen) Laing. She graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1960 and from the St. Ambrose College. She had married Donald Dethmann in 1965. She was a homemaker, beautician, and had worked at the University of Iowa Hospital as a Lab Technician. Nancy enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, including her Jensen and Laing cousins.

Nancy is survived by her two children, Amy (David) Crock of Tipton, IA and a son, Eric (Lindsey) Dethmann of North Liberty, IA; two grandsons, Nathan and Benen Crock; and a brother, Larry (Joan) Laing of Spraugeville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
