Mary K. Nissen, 82, of Camanche, passed away, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Manor Care – Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Kathleen McCollam was born on September 8, 1934 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Genevieve (Winter) McCollam. She was a 1953 graduate of LeClaire High School. She married Robert E. Nissen on June 6, 1953 in Princeton, Iowa; he died March 8, 1989.

Mary was a cook at the Camanche High School for many years retiring in the early 1990’s. She also worked at the V Store in Camanche. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, enjoyed taking bus trips, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Clinton Lumberking and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mary is survived by two sons: Robert Nissen of Davenport, Iowa, and Randy (Dawn) Nissen of Plover, Wisconsin; two daughters: Linda (Dan) Suiter of Princeton, Iowa, and Stephanie (Barry) Smith of Camanche, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Janice (John) Suiter of Princeton, Iowa, and Judy (Barry) Herman of LeClaire, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister: Phyllis.
