Myrna J. Romer age 76 of Goose Lake, IA, passed away Friday Nov. 4, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday Nov. 8th at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be held Tuesday 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Butch, Pete, and Dan Shirley, Mark Day, Vincent Cornilsen, Bill Rush, and Ernie Dague. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Myrna was born on March 12, 1940 in Clinton, the daughter of Francis and Alberta (King) Shirley. She married William “Bill” Romer on April 7, 1956 in Clinton, he died in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Club and the Sewing Club. Myrna enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and gardening. Myrna is survived by her four children, Myrna (Tim) Miracle of Clinton, Rhonda (Mark) Day of Bettendorf, William Romer, Jr. of Clinton, and Brenda (Vincent) Cornilsen of Clinton; 6 grandchildren, Bobby, William, Francis, Valerie, Danielle, and Gerri; 6 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Francis “Butch” (Karen) Shirley, William “Pete” Shirley, and Dan (Connie) Shirley all of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.
