Gregory D. Smith age 46 of Clinton, passed away Friday Oct. 28, 2016 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday 5 – 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow the funeral service. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com Greg was born on Sept. 14, 1970 in Lawton, OK, the son of Barry and Mary (Combs) Smith. He married Brandy Hereid in 1995 in Clinton. He later married Dawn Kolthoff in 2007 in Clinton. Greg worked as a farrowing manager at Gilt Edge Farms in Freeport, IL. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing World of Warcraft. He was an avid Star Wars and Ozzy Osborne fan. Greg is survived by his wife, Dawn Smith of Clinton; three daughters, Layla, Erica, and Danica Smith all of Clinton; three step-children, Keith Tornow of Prophetstown, IL, Damian Tornow of Clinton, and Shauntae Hernandez of Rock Falls, IL; two grandchildren, Jerimiah and Karlee; his father, Barry Smith of Camanche; two brothers, Gary Smith of Lost Nation and Barry “BJ” (De) Smith of Ridott, IL; a sister, Michelle (Rob) Rodekamp of Clinton; his best friend, Kenneth Tornow; and several nieces and nephews. He was prceded in death by his mother.
