Elene Marie Petersen age 87 of Clinton passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center North. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Elene was born in Clinton on June 24, 1929, the daughter of William “Bill” and Leona (Kroigaard) Petersen. She graduated from Lyons High School. Elene was a homemaker, caring for elderly members of her family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the former Odeon Club where she enjoyed bowling. She was a loving aunt to her nephew Eric and niece Renee. Elene is survived by her nephew Eric (Shannon) Petersen of Cottage Grove, MN; her niece Renee (Chris) Daniels of Burnsville, MN and a sister-in-law, Mary Petersen of Cottage Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jurgen.
