Terence L. Sullivan age 77 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. In following Terry’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Terry Sullivan Student Athlete Scholarship Fund. Terry was born in Clinton on August 8, 1939, the son of John and Ruth (Eklund) Sullivan. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1957 and served with the United States Air Force from June of 1957 to June of 1961. Terry was stationed in the Philippines where he was a middle infielder for the Air Force traveling baseball team. Terry married Barbara Buckman on September 7, 1963 at St. Irenaeus Church. Terry retired from the Clinton Herald after 40 years. He owned and worked at Adcraft from 1974 to 2014. He had been a member of the former St. Irenaeus Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports. He loved baseball and working with his family. Terry is survived by his wife Barbara; five children, Daniel (Julie) Sullivan of Clinton and their children, Jordan (Avery) McWallace and their son and Terry’s great grandson, Deacon, Colin and John; Sean (Rebecca) Sullivan of Bettendorf and their children, Delainey, Presley and Parker; Michelle (Kyle) Schoenfelder of Bettendorf and their children MacKinen, Tucker and Rocky; Erinn (Jon) Dillon of Wheaton, IL and their children Quinn, Hawkins and Elliot and Colin (Megan) Sullivan of Camanche and their children Lawson and Sutton; three brothers, Don Sullivan of Davenport, James Sullivan of Camanche and Patrick (Jill) Sullivan of Ankeny, IA; a sister, Connie (Dutch) Eshelman of Mesa, AZ and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve Sullivan. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
