Sheryl A. Edmunds, 75, of Clinton, passed away, Friday, August 5, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa.

Memorial Services will be held later this month at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Sheryl Ann Edmunds was born on February 2, 1941 in Clinton, the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Bjornas) Edmunds. She was a 1959 graduate of Clinton High School. She received her AA from Mt. Saint Clare College in 1961 and graduated from Carthage in Kenosha in 1970.

Sheryl taught 1st grade at Prophetstown Elementary School for 37 years retiring in 1999.

Sheryl was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Illinois Education Association and the National Education Association. She also volunteered many hours with Mercy Auxiliary and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Sheryl is survived by two brothers: Larry (Rose Mary) Edmunds of Clinton, and Gary (Marianne) Edmunds of Glasgow, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother: Fred, Jr.
