The Clinton Herald Thursday August 13, 1945 p. 10 Requiem high mass for W.H. Gribbon was celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic church. The Rev. Fr. John Moriarty, pastor, was the celebrant, with the Rev. Fr. Harold O'Connor, Lost Nation, serving as deacon and the Rev. Fr. Edward Leahy, assistant pastor of St. Joseph's church, as sub-deacon. Honorary pallbearers, all charter members of Archbishop Hennessey council, Knights of Columbus, included P.G. Dunlavy, L.H. Feldpausch, William Dunlavy, Charles Farrell, William McDermott and Peter Troy. Active bearers were Frank Endries, Lee Barber, Gerald Dunlavy, E.P. Murphy, Arthus Blanche and E.J. McManus. Miss Elinor Dunlavy, Miss Florence Orndorf and Miss Vivian McDonnell were in charge of the flowers. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Relatives here from a distance for the service included Miss Lucille Gribbon of New Haven, Conn., with others from Clinton, Davenport and neighboring towns.
