The Clinton Herald March 24, 1969 Mrs. Margaret A. McGrath, 99, a lifelong Clinton County resident, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph J. O'Brien, 1430 N. 3rd St., after a long illness. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Delaney funeral home by the Altar and Rosary society of St. Patrick's church followed by the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a requiem high mass at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter A. Arlen, James L. Halbach, Clarence Lyons, Edward Lyons, David J. O'Brien and J. Thomas O'Brien. Mrs. McGrath was born Oct. 1, 1869, in Clinton county, the daughter of John and Mary Tighe Lyons. She was married to James P. McGrath, Nov. 23, 1898 in St. Irenaeus church. She was a member of St. Patrick's church and a charter member of the church's Altar and Rosary society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Irene) O'Brien and Mrs. L.J. (Bernice) Halbach of Excelsior, Minn., six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1925, one son, two brothers and five sisters.
