28 May 1909 - The Lowden News

Wheatland Gazette - Maria Christina Peeck was born Oct. 23, 1845, at Ilserheide, Kreis Minden, Westphalia, Prussia, where she lived until 1868, when she came to this country and settled near Lowden. In the fall of the same year she was married to John Henry Homrighausen, who passed away in 1893. They were blessed with six children, all of whom are living in this vicinity. They are John, Carl, Frederick, Mrs. Fred Rowald, Mrs. Wm. Hoker and Mrs. Ferdinand Schneider. Two sisters, Mrs. Bicknese and Mrs. Penningroth, of this vicinity, also survive her. For many years she had been a faithful, earnest member of the German Reformed church and her many Christian acts and kindness will ever be remembered by those who were benefitted. Her neighbors and friends have naught but kindly words of deep sorrow over their loss. The funeral services were held at the farm home southwest of town, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. Gatermann officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the family burial grounds on the farm. Thus has one more of God's loved ones found eternal rest.
