Elizabeth A. “Betty” Jewett age 83 of Clinton, formerly of Waterloo, passed away Monday May 9, 2016 at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday May 13th at the St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Friends and family may visit Friday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the church in Waterloo. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton is assisting the family. Burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Betty was born on Jan. 12, 1933 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Frank and Regina (Schueller) Heim. She married Lee Jewett on Nov. 8, 1952 in Dubuque, Iowa; he died in 2011. Betty was a homemaker and had worked for the Welles Department Store and the Super 8 Motel in Waterloo. She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Waterloo. Betty loved to cook, painting ceramics, antiques, and spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her three children, Regina (Jerry) Dahl of Clinton, IA, Joan Summerhayes of Waterloo, IA, and Craig Jewett of Yellville, AR; seven grandchildren, Cyrene, Aaron, Joshua, Erica, Christine, Emily, and Nick; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Heim of East Dubuque, IL, Daniel Heim of Key west, IA; two sisters, Vivian Waechter of Lincoln, NE and Diane Weis of Dubuque, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter in infancy, and five brothers, Clarence, Edward, Kenneth, John, and Richard.
