Geraldine Mae Clausen-Butz age 81, a longtime resident of Clinton, IA, went to her final resting place on May 9, 2016 after a brief illness. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday May 13th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday May 12th and from 9:30 until the service time on Friday. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clinton. Pall bearers will be her eight grandchildren. A luncheon will follow at Triple Play Bowling and Banquet in Fulton, IL. Geraldine was born on November 23, 1934, the daughter of Ingwer and Pauline (Humphrey) Gertsen in Clinton. She married Faye D. Clausen on September 11, 1954. Faye died on May 8, 1991. Geraldine then married Claire Butz on May 20, 1995. She was a lifelong City of Clinton employee and upon retirement, she worked for the Clinton School District. Geraldine enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, her card club, outdoor work, bus trips to the casino, watching old western movies and eating garlic and butter shrimp made by her grandson Chance. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Geraldine is survived by her husband Claire; four daughters, Lynn (Craig) Brandt, Sheryl (Jeffrey) Sullivan, Jacie (Eldon) Rannfeldt and Kimberly (Doug) Pennock; eight grandchildren, Jeffery Jr., Thaddeus, Angela, Leah, Chance, Zane, Emma and Seth; five step-sons, Jay, Jan, Joel, Jerry and Jon; 11 step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Faye and her siblings Eugene, Lavonne and Mary.
