Anita K. “Skeeter” Vaughn age 63 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals. In following Anita’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Pape Funeral Home. A Memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM. Anita was born in Clinton, IA on August 16, 1952, the daughter of Charles and Ardelle (Cram) Brockett. She married John Vaughn on April 13, 2008 in Bellevue, Iowa. Anita had been employed and retired from the Sarah Harding Home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, sewing and crafts. Anita is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Deanna (Lee) Stuart of Fulton, Ardella (Sharon) Anderson of Clinton, and Hazel (Chad) Corbett of Savanna; one son, Matthew (April) Stoddard of Clinton; two step-daughters, Wendy (Paul) Trefren of Champaign, IL and Katherine “Katie” Shady of Cedar Rapids; one step-son, Travis Vaughn of Blair, NE; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Brenda) Harris of Fulton; one sister, Belinda Cox of Clinton; several half-brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; a special friend whom she looked up to as a mother, Audrey Blevin of Arabia, Iowa, and her four legged friend Echo. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dayton Bacon; a daughter, Lisa Miracle; a granddaughter, Samantha Stuart; a great grandson, Ethan Westphal; two brothers, Sidney and L.D.
